Stranger…

Yes, I’ve been missing…but I haven’t been lost.  And that’s what’s important.  I’m hovering now around this 256-258 range.  I’ve been here since my last post over a month ago.

In our last meeting, we discussed “the fog”, that element that makes the journey seem unreachable.  I may be guilty of looking too deep into the fog, or should I say have been guilty…

I feel ready to look down and move toward my goal, day by day.

Let’s see what happens.

I Have a Goal Weight…235 lbs.

Visited the doctor today who officially established my goal weight as 235 lbs.  That means I’m 23 lbs away from goal.

Here I go…

I’m Slackin’

I need to pick up the frequency of posts. I’ve actually been very busy lately, so the blog has not been top priority. My weight loss focus is still strong. However, I had to take a pass today on the scale because of a bad Saturday. I ate pasta and it seemed to stick with me and killed the progress I’d made up to that point. I’m slowly recovering from it, but wanted to give myself another week to do so.

I did attend the meeting today, which was good. The meetings really help me focus from week to week, something I couldn’t say from my previous WW experience. Part of it is due to the fact that it’s at work and I know the folks. The other part is Cathy, our team leader. She can be very motivating at times with her topics–so much so that one woman stopped attending the meetings because “she was too positive” (her words). Her problem…

Goodbye 260s! Goodbye 40 lbs!

Reached two milestones today. I’m officially out of the 260s and my official weight loss in my second WW experience is 40.2 lbs. I haven’t seen the 250s in about 8 years, so it’s definitely feeling good.

Since I’ve been involved with WW, I’m down a total of 53 lbs.   From my highest weight on record, I’m down 58 lbs.
I need to now find a doctor to get my official goal weight. I’m ready to push toward the final lap.

Petite Appetite

I’ve had little to no appetite over the last 5 days or so.  Don’t know why, but I’m trying to ignore this sense or lack there of, and eat anyway.  I wonder what effect it will have on my weigh-in tomorrow.

Blood Pressure

I purchased a blood pressure monitor after my trip to Kansas City. In KC, my blood pressure measured in what I know now to be the “pre-hypertension” range. At that time, the onsite physician could not hear well because of the noise in the arena. Since I’ve been home, I’ve been taking my blood pressure twice a day, in the morning after I wake up and as soon as I get home from work.

What I’m seeing is a wide fluctuation between a below normal reading 127/70 and a systolic-high reading of 134/80. I would imagine some of it is stress related or because of something I ate. The only consistent measure has been that the diastolic reading has not gone into the pre-hypertension range.

I’ll keep monitoring and making lifestyle adjustments so that I can keep it low and under control.

I Can’t Explain It…

Officially down 5.4 lbs in a week of no exercise, not the greatest food choices (albeit I never pigged out) and travelling. What the hell?

Maybe I needed the change in menu to kick me out of my plateau, which was back.

Maybe both scales (at home and at WW) are jacked up.

Maybe I just need to be thankful, focus and get a solid streak going.

A Nutty Monday…

After a not-so-great weekend of eating, preceeded by an average eating week, I am unofficially 6 lbs lighter.

Go figure…

Back Online…Let’s Hope

My frequency in postings (or lack there of) should be say something about my weight loss focus lately. It hasn’t been due to apathy in any way…I’ve just had a crazy two weeks. I travelled to Kansas City this weekend, where the food was absolutely horrible. The only options for me were deli sandwiches at the event I worked and take out at the hotel. The turkey reuben take out was probably my healthiest meal.

I’ll attempt to salvage the rest of the week before my weigh-in with better eating and exercise.

We had doctors on site at the event I worked. I had my blood pressure taken…was borderline high. Not surprising, given my love for salt. However, it was so loud at the event, the doc had a hard time hearing anything. So when I arrive home, I’m going to buy a blood pressure monitor. It’s been about a year since my last reading and the results were the same. Between those two readings, my weight swung at least 40 lbs.

My workload should be lightening up soon. This will allow me to regain focus.
